Plasma-driven chemistry and applications

Überblick

Characterization of a laser filament-induced plasma in air at 10 kHz using optical emission spectroscopy

Filaments can trigger electrical discharges, clear aerosols optoacoustically to keep free-space optical links open, and drive chemistry directly in the gas phase. Each of these has been demonstrated at low repetition rate and stalled there, because the average power was never available. It now is. We are working out which of these effects scale — and which ones change character when they do.
